this building housed text books for detroit’s public schools. a fire forced its closure in 1987 and it’s been abandoned every since. while detroit’s schools and its children remain vastly under-resourced, thousands upon thousands of unused books, many still boxed and in their original packaging, lay to waste and exposed to the elements. profoundly disturbing.
